What is collected when you shop, browse or write to us, and what happens to it afterwards.
This policy is issued by DMV Clothing LLC (“DMV Clothing”, “we”, “us”), operating dmvclothing.com. It covers the store, the newsletter and any message you send to hello@dmvclothing.com. Last updated September 2026.
We collect only what we need to take an order, print a garment, deliver it, answer you, and keep the store running. We do not sell personal information.
What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email address, phone number if you give one, billing and shipping address.
- Order details: the garments you buy, sizes, prices, discounts, and the fulfillment and tracking status of the parcel.
- Payment confirmation from the processor. Card numbers and security codes never reach our servers.
- Account details if you create one: email, order history and saved addresses.
- Newsletter sign-ups: an email address only.
- Messages you send through the contact form or email, including any order number or photographs you attach.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, referring site, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies and similar storage used for the bag, checkout, preferences and measurement of how the site is used.
Why we use it
- To take payment, print the order, ship it and send tracking.
- To create and maintain an account if you choose to have one.
- To answer questions, handle returns and investigate faults.
- To send the ledger if you subscribe, and to stop sending it when you unsubscribe.
- To keep the store secure, prevent fraud and diagnose faults.
- To understand which pages are used so we can keep the site working.
- To meet tax, accounting and consumer-law record-keeping duties.
Who we share it with
Orders run through our commerce platform. That platform stores the name, email, shipping address and payment confirmation needed to fulfil them. Payment is handled by the platform's processor.
Name, shipping address, email and order contents are passed to our print-on-demand fulfillment partner so the garment can be printed and handed to a carrier. The carrier receives the address and contact details required to deliver the parcel and provide tracking.
We also use hosting, email, form and analytics providers who process data on our instructions. They are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
We disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to protect the store, our customers or the public. If the business is sold or reorganised, customer records move with it under this policy.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the bag, checkout and security working. We also use cookies or similar tools to remember preferences and to measure visits. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser; the store may then forget a bag or a preference between visits. Checkout cannot run with all cookies disabled.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and consumer law require, typically several years. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Support messages are kept long enough to resolve the request and any later dispute. Analytics data is kept in aggregate or for a limited period set by the tool.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it, or to delete it, subject to the records tax and consumer law require us to keep.
- Unsubscribe from the ledger without affecting an order in progress. Every message carries an unsubscribe link.
- Object to marketing, or ask us to restrict certain processing.
- If you are in California or another US state with a privacy statute: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those laws define those terms. You may still request access, deletion or correction.
- If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. You also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under applicable law.
Other notes
- The store is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
- Fulfillment and some processors operate outside the country you are in. When data leaves your country it is protected by the contracts and safeguards those providers offer.
- We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page will change. Continued use of the store after a change means you accept the revised policy.
